Could a poop transplant slow Alzheimer's? early trial begins

NCT ID NCT07332260

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether transferring stool from a healthy donor into the gut of a person with Alzheimer's disease is safe and practical. Researchers want to see if changing the gut bacteria can affect the brain, as some evidence suggests a link. The study will enroll 10 people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's and track their safety, gut bacteria changes, and some thinking and memory tests over three months.
