Cancer drug tested in fight against Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT04070378

Summary

This small, early-stage study explored whether a drug used for blood cancer, called daratumumab, could help people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The drug targets a specific protein on immune cells that may contribute to brain inflammation in Alzheimer's. Researchers gave the drug to 16 participants to see if it could lead to meaningful improvements in memory and thinking skills.
