Brain barrier breakthrough tested for Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT05469009

Summary

This early study is testing whether temporarily opening the protective blood-brain barrier with a focused ultrasound device is safe and feasible when combined with standard Alzheimer's drug infusions. It involves 15 people with mild Alzheimer's or mild cognitive impairment. The goal is to see if this approach helps more of the drug reach the brain and potentially slow disease progression.
