First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a new ceramic putty to repair bone gaps in the gums of 84 children with cleft lip and palate. The putty aims to help new bone grow without needing to take bone from the child's own jaw. Researchers compared the amount of new bone formed one year after surgery using the putty versus standard bone grafting.
