First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 people aged 16-22 who needed braces and had a premolar removed. Researchers compared two methods to speed up tooth movement: injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a minor surgical procedure called decortication. They used 3D scans to measure bone defects around the moved tooth. The goal was to see which method causes fewer bone holes or gaps.
