Scientists test if lab hypoxia matches real mountain stress on mind and body

NCT ID NCT04075565

Summary

This study aimed to understand how low oxygen at high altitudes affects the brain and body. Researchers compared 20 healthy adults experiencing real mountain altitude with others in a lab that simulated the same low-oxygen conditions. They measured brain oxygen, heart rate, stress hormones, and thinking skills to see if lab tests accurately reflect the real-world experience.
