Scientists search for early warning signs in ALS

NCT ID NCT02429492

Summary

This study aimed to understand how nerve cells in the spinal cord communicate in ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Researchers compared electrical activity in the spinal nerves of 101 healthy people and recently diagnosed ALS patients. The goal was to find measurable signs (biomarkers) of the disease that could help with earlier diagnosis and future treatment testing.
