Blood test breakthrough could speed up devastating ALS diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07091799
Summary
This study aims to see if measuring a protein called P2X4 on certain blood cells can serve as a reliable marker for diagnosing Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Researchers will compare blood samples from 50 people with ALS to samples from healthy volunteers to see if P2X4 levels are different. The goal is to find a faster, simpler way to diagnose this serious neurological disease.
