New device aims to help ALS patients breathe easier, live longer

NCT ID NCT07257302

Summary

This study is testing whether a special breathing training device can help people with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) maintain their lung function and possibly extend survival. Fifteen participants will use the device at home twice daily to practice deep breathing exercises. Researchers will track their breathing ability, overall health, and survival over three years, comparing results to historical data from other ALS patients.
