Summary

This study tested whether a supplement called alpha-lipoic acid could help people critically ill with sepsis. It involved 80 patients in an Egyptian hospital, who were randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo for one week. Researchers measured if it reduced organ failure, length of hospital stay, and markers of severe inflammation.
