NCT ID NCT07145385

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study examines whether a rare genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) is more common in people who develop liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) without having cirrhosis or other known risk factors. Researchers will review medical records of 71 adults with this type of liver cancer to see how many have AATD. The goal is to better understand if AATD plays a role in causing liver cancer, which could lead to better screening and prevention in the future.
