ER program aims to clear Kids' false allergy labels

NCT ID NCT06823154

Summary

This study is testing a program in a children's emergency department that safely removes inaccurate antibiotic allergy labels from kids' medical records. Many children are mistakenly labeled as allergic to common antibiotics like penicillin or amoxicillin, often due to rashes that weren't true allergies. The program involves giving children a small, supervised dose of the antibiotic to prove they're not actually allergic, which allows doctors to use more effective medications when needed.
