Major trial tests tailored, intensive therapies to fight aggressive blood cancers

NCT ID NCT02881086

Summary

This large study aimed to find the best treatment plans for adults newly diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) or lymphoblastic lymphoma. It tested personalized, intensive chemotherapy approaches, including a specific drug (nelarabine) for a certain type of ALL, and evaluated whether stem cell transplants or avoiding brain radiation were better for some patients. The goal was to control the cancer more effectively and improve long-term survival.
