Algae vs. fish: the Omega-3 absorption showdown
NCT ID NCT06629103
Summary
This study aims to see if the body absorbs omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from algae-based supplements as well as it does from traditional fish oil. It will involve 120 healthy adults with low omega-3 levels, who will take either an algae oil, fish oil, or a placebo for six weeks. Researchers will measure the levels of these fats in participants' blood to compare how much is absorbed from each source.
