Algae-Powered bandage could speed up healing of deep skin wounds

Summary

This study tests whether adding tiny algae that produce oxygen to a skin-regeneration bandage helps deep wounds heal better and faster. Twenty adults with full-thickness skin wounds will receive either the standard bandage or the algae-enhanced version. Researchers will measure how quickly the wound bed becomes ready for a skin graft and whether infection rates drop.
