First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested a new COVID-19 drug, ALG-097558, in 16 adults—some with moderate liver problems and some with healthy livers. The goal was to see how the liver affects drug levels in the body and check for side effects. It was an early-stage (Phase 1) study, not designed to measure if the drug treats COVID-19.
