Scientists probe hidden link between gland disorder and high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT07388914
Summary
This study aims to understand the connection between a parathyroid gland disorder and high blood pressure. Researchers will measure a hormone called aldosterone in 400 patients before and for a year after they have surgery to remove a problematic parathyroid gland. The goal is to see if the surgery affects aldosterone levels and if that helps explain changes in patients' blood pressure and medication needs.
