Scientists track hidden hormone that may trigger high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT03484130

Summary

This study aims to understand how a hormone called aldosterone changes over time in people at risk for developing high blood pressure. Researchers will follow 100 adults with borderline blood pressure and other risk factors, measuring their hormone levels and blood pressure repeatedly. The goal is to learn how aldosterone contributes to heart and metabolic health risks before full-blown hypertension develops.
