Liver clinics to offer alcohol addiction treatment in new study

Summary

This study looks at whether it's possible and acceptable to train liver doctors to provide medication and brief counseling for alcohol use disorder. About 30 healthcare providers who treat liver disease will take part. The goal is to make it easier for patients with both alcohol-related liver disease and alcohol use disorder to get the help they need.
