New computer game aims to curb heavy drinking in veterans

Summary
This study tests a computer-based training program, called Approach Avoidance Training, for veterans with alcohol use disorder. The training aims to change automatic urges to approach alcohol. Researchers will see if adding this training to standard care helps veterans drink less and recover from alcohol-related problems in their social, work, and home life. About 176 veterans will participate.
