Hospital launches new push to curb drinking with counseling and medication
NCT ID NCT05338151
Summary
This study is testing three different support programs to help people with moderate to severe alcohol problems stay engaged in treatment after they leave the hospital. Researchers at Yale will enroll 450 diverse patients to see if combining a brief counseling session with medication and/or a computer-based therapy program works better than counseling alone. The main goal is to see which approach helps people stick with treatment and reduce heavy drinking over 90 days.
