First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how alcohol causes muscle breakdown in people with alcoholic liver disease. Researchers will take a one-time muscle biopsy to measure specific protein changes. The goal is to understand the process, not to test a treatment. About 40 adults aged 18 to 65 with alcoholic liver disease or healthy controls will participate.
