Summary
This study aims to understand how alcohol changes the way the liver handles fat. Researchers will take two small samples of liver tissue from people with alcohol use disorder who are entering a detox program—one sample early on and another a few weeks later. By comparing these samples, they hope to learn what changes in the liver when a person stops drinking alcohol.
