Summary
This study tested whether adding a small amount of alcohol to standard pain-relief injections could provide longer-lasting relief for chronic sacroiliac joint pain, a common cause of low back pain. Fifty-four adults with pain lasting over 12 weeks received either the standard injection or the injection with added alcohol. Researchers measured pain levels, disability, and how long the pain relief lasted to see if the alcohol made a significant difference.
