Could a dash of alcohol in your back injection bring longer relief?

NCT ID NCT07151027

Summary

This study tested whether adding a small amount of alcohol to a standard steroid and numbing injection could provide longer-lasting pain relief for chronic low back pain originating from the sacroiliac joint. Fifty-four adults with this specific type of pain for over 12 weeks received the injection with or without alcohol added. Researchers compared pain levels, disability, and how long the pain relief lasted between the two groups.
