This study looks at whether giving the protein albumin for three days, along with usual care, can prevent repeat bleeding in people with cirrhosis who have a sudden bleed from veins in the food pipe. About 60 adults will take part. The goal is to see if albumin lowers the chance of bleeding again in the hospital and within six weeks.
