Protein boost tested to save lives in deadly Post-Surgery shock

NCT ID NCT07212582

Summary

This study aims to see if adding a natural blood protein called albumin to standard intensive care improves survival for patients with surgical septic shock. About 304 adult patients in a surgical ICU will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus albumin infusions for up to 3 days. The main goal is to see if this approach helps more patients survive the first 28 days after their critical illness begins.
