Can a common protein stop deadly bleeding in liver patients?
NCT ID NCT07395141
Summary
This study aims to see if adding a protein called albumin to standard treatment helps patients with severe liver disease who are experiencing life-threatening bleeding from enlarged veins. It will involve 60 adults with cirrhosis and active bleeding. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus albumin for three days to see which group has less re-bleeding and lower mortality.
