First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to manage the many alarms in intensive care units (ICUs). Currently, patients can trigger up to 350 alarms per day, but most are false or not important. The goal is to see if a stricter alarm protocol can reduce noise pollution and keep patients safer. About 514 adult ICU patients will take part.
