Spray before surgery could cut strong painkiller need, stabilize heart patients

NCT ID NCT06395727

Summary

This study tested if numbing a patient's airway with a spray before heart surgery could help them need less strong pain medication. Using less of these medications might help keep their blood pressure and heart rate more stable during the critical start of the procedure. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive step could make anesthesia safer and smoother for people having elective heart surgery.
