AI grading Doctors' bedside manner: a new study

NCT ID NCT07107880

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026

Summary

This study compares an AI platform to human experts in evaluating how well anesthesia trainees communicate when disclosing medical errors. About 45 residents and fellows will participate in a simulated conversation, and their communication skills will be scored by both AI and trained human raters. The goal is to see if AI can reliably assess these skills, which could help train future doctors more efficiently.
