Robot vs. doctor: Who's better at spotting risky eyes before surgery?
NCT ID NCT07096232
Summary
This study is testing a new AI computer system designed to help eye doctors screen patients for laser vision correction surgery. The AI reviews patient history and eye scans to check for a condition called keratoconus, which can make surgery unsafe. Researchers are comparing the AI's decisions to those of an expert eye doctor on 50 patient cases to see if the AI is just as accurate.
