AI steps in: software tries to manage diabetes pumps

NCT ID NCT03774069

Summary

This study tested whether a computer program (DreaMed Advisor Pro) could safely adjust insulin pump settings for young people with type 1 diabetes, without a doctor reviewing the changes first. It compared this automated approach to the standard method where patients contact their doctor for adjustments. The goal was to see if the software could help people keep their blood sugar in a healthy range just as well as traditional care.
