AI brings family voices to ICU to calm anxious patients

NCT ID NCT06743321

Summary

This study aims to see if using artificial intelligence to clone the voices of a patient's loved ones can help reduce anxiety and depression in critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Nurses will use these familiar, cloned voices when communicating with patients who are on breathing machines. Researchers will measure changes in anxiety, depression, and other outcomes like delirium and length of ICU stay.
