First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether artificial intelligence (AI) can analyze video recordings of ICU patients to predict dangerous events, such as patients pulling out breathing tubes or becoming agitated. About 300 participants will have a small camera above their bed that records their movements and sleep, while privacy is protected by blurring faces. The goal is to train an AI system to give early warnings to medical staff, potentially preventing emergencies and improving patient safety.
