AI cameras watch ICU patients to stop emergencies before they start
NCT ID NCT07307521
Summary
This study aims to see if artificial intelligence (AI) can watch video of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and spot early warning signs of dangerous events like agitation or accidentally pulling out medical tubes. About 300 patients will have a small, privacy-protected camera above their bed to record their movements, which will be combined with their regular medical monitor data. The goal is to train an AI system to give nurses and doctors an early heads-up so they can prevent harm.
