AI helps family doctors spot skin cancer

NCT ID NCT07428941

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help primary care doctors more accurately diagnose various skin conditions, including skin cancers like melanoma. Nine doctors reviewed 30 skin images, first giving their own diagnosis and then reviewing the AI's suggestions. Researchers wanted to see if the AI improved diagnostic accuracy and helped doctors make better decisions about when to refer patients to skin specialists.
