AI steps into recovery room: new tool aims to get surgery patients home sooner and safer
NCT ID NCT07406269
Summary
This study is testing a new computer tool that helps doctors decide when a patient is ready to start moving and planning to go home after major surgery for cancer or gastrointestinal issues. The tool analyzes the patient's routine hospital data and gives a simple 'yes' or 'no' suggestion to the care team, who make the final decision. The goal is to help patients start recovery activities at the right time, which may shorten hospital stays while keeping them safe.
