AI steps into the OR: new tool aims to sharpen Surgeons' vision for complex reconstructions
NCT ID NCT06634472
Summary
This study is testing a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help surgeons plan and perform a specific type of complex jaw reconstruction surgery. The AI analyzes medical scans to automatically map the tiny blood vessels that supply skin, which are critical for the surgery's success. Researchers will compare the AI's maps to what surgeons actually see during operations on 49 patients to see if the tool is accurate and saves planning time.
