AI vs. the eye: new tool aims to take guesswork out of spotting dental implant problems
NCT ID NCT07349095
Summary
This study is testing a new computer tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze colors in dental scan images. The goal is to create an objective, consistent way for dentists to spot early signs of inflammation (redness) around dental implants, which is currently judged by eye and can vary between clinicians. Researchers will develop the AI using scans from 200 patients and then see if it helps dentists of different experience levels make more accurate and confident diagnoses.
