AI alert system tested to catch deadly sepsis sooner
NCT ID NCT05584098
Summary
This study looked back at 950 emergency room patients to see if combining simple vital sign checklists (MEWS and qSOFA scores) with artificial intelligence could help doctors predict sepsis faster. The goal was to create a tool that alerts doctors sooner when a patient might be developing this serious condition, allowing for quicker treatment. Researchers analyzed past medical records to see how well these scores identified sepsis cases.
