Your face could warn doctors of anesthesia danger
NCT ID NCT07411495
Summary
This study is testing a new AI tool that scans a patient's face to predict if placing a breathing tube will be difficult before surgery. It aims to help anesthesiologists identify high-risk patients in advance to improve safety. The system analyzes facial structure using a 3D scanner and machine learning algorithms. It is being tested on 1,000 adults undergoing surgery requiring general anesthesia.
