Robot companion aims to ease emotional pain for cancer patients

Summary
This study is developing and testing a robot named E-MOTE to provide emotional support to women newly diagnosed with gynecologic cancer who are having surgery. The robot aims to help patients manage distress, depression, and physical symptoms to improve their quality of life. Researchers will enroll about 130 patients to see if the AI robot is helpful and easy to use.
