AI camera could revolutionize ovarian cancer surgery decisions

NCT ID NCT06017557

Summary

This study aims to improve treatment planning for advanced ovarian cancer by using artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze videos taken during a diagnostic camera procedure (laparoscopy). The AI will try to predict whether a patient's tumors can be successfully removed with immediate surgery or if they would benefit from chemotherapy first. Researchers will enroll 151 patients to train and test this computer vision model, which could help make surgical decisions more accurate and consistent.
