AI tool could help doctors forecast ICU outcomes for cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07408661

Summary

This study aimed to create a better tool for predicting whether critically ill cancer patients will survive 30 days after entering the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers analyzed data from over 1,100 patients, using artificial intelligence to combine information about iron levels in the blood with other standard health measurements. The goal was to help doctors make more informed decisions, not to test a new treatment.
