AI scans aim to predict breast cancer cure before surgery
NCT ID NCT06708910
Summary
This study is testing whether a special type of scan (PET/MRI), analyzed by artificial intelligence, can accurately tell if a patient's HER2-positive breast cancer has been completely eliminated by drug treatment before surgery. It aims to see if these scans can predict and confirm a complete response to therapy, potentially helping doctors make better treatment decisions. The study will involve 460 patients and replaces a standard CT scan with this more detailed imaging approach.
