AI reads brain scans to guide lung cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07373951

Summary

This study is testing a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help doctors treat lung cancer that has spread to the brain. The tool analyzes standard brain MRI scans to predict whether a patient's cancer has specific genetic markers (EGFR or ALK), which determine the best treatment. The goal is to provide this information non-invasively, potentially avoiding risky brain surgery just to get a tissue sample for genetic testing.
