Could a phone photo replace a blood test for iron?

NCT ID NCT06577727

Summary

This study tested a new idea: using smartphone photos or videos of a child's nails and lips to estimate their iron levels. Researchers compared the AI's estimates from the images to results from standard blood tests taken from 250 children under age 6. The goal was to see if this non-invasive method could be accurate and acceptable to parents and doctors.
