Can gamified AI training slash needlestick injuries among nurses?
NCT ID NCT07562867
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a fun, AI-powered training program can help nurses learn how to prevent sharps injuries, like needlesticks. Thirty-six nurses will either get the new training or standard lectures. Researchers will check if the program boosts knowledge and safer attitudes right after and two months later.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-supported gamified training program
What this could lead to
If effective, this training could become a new standard for educating nurses on sharps injury prevention, potentially reducing needlestick injuries in hospitals.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 36 nurses, so results may not apply broadly. The training's long-term impact on actual injury rates is not yet proven.
