AI steps into the operating room to guide gallbladder drainage

NCT ID NCT06981052

Summary

This study tested a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help doctors safely place a small metal tube (stent) to drain an infected gallbladder. The procedure is for patients with cholecystitis who are too sick for surgery. Researchers compared the AI's safety recommendations against those of a human expert to see if the technology could be a reliable assistant.
